Project Overview and Challenges
Accelerated Timeline
Due to internal project sequencing, the design and production phase for the custom exhibit design was compressed into approximately two and a half weeks, significantly shorter than the typical five-week lead time for a project of this complexity.
Design Complexity
The 10x20 trade show booth required a polished, professional look to represent the church's new vision. It included a high-profile grass wall, a custom-designed neon sign, and an integrated television display.
Logistical Hurdles
Troy needed a partner who could not only provide an effective solution for the booth displays, but who could also execute the custom elements that he envisioned. And, to do all of it with timely delivery to the venue in Kansas.

The Brightformat Solution: Partnership Beyond Production
Troy chose Freestanders by Brightformat for their innovative (and patented) magnetic technology and their commitment to client service. Peter Houlihan, co-owner of Brightformat, personally took a hands-on approach, demonstrating exceptional flexibility and a relentless focus on finding a solution.
A Commitment to Delivery
Recognizing the urgency, Peter and the Brightformat team immediately started work, establishing a partnership based on trust that allowed Troy to focus on the creative elements while production was underway.
Integrated Design and Logistics
Brightformat streamlined the process by handling the custom exhibit design's most complex elements. Troy had originally expected to handle attaching the faux grass and neon sign to the display, but the Brightformat team jumped in to save him the headache during install.
At their shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Brightformat took on the task of pre-mounting the grass wall and drilling precise holes to properly set the neon sign, guaranteeing the booth would be ready for quick setup. To ensure everything met expectations, the team also fully assembled the booth in their shop ahead of the event—allowing Troy to preview the finished display and gain peace of mind before it shipped to the venue.
"The quality of this printing is so good. You want to touch it... It's better than a sign maker. It just looks incredible."
– Troy Dossett, Creative Director
The Result: A Sustainable Success Story
Exceptional Quality and Durability
The print quality was noted for its incredible color depth and a durable finish that resisted scratching, a major advantage over previous booth materials. Troy appreciated the ability to print both sides, allowing for two brands or initiatives on a single wall.
Effortless Assembly
The magnetic connections made assembly remarkably simple. The local church that hosted the first event was so impressed by the portable display that they asked to keep it set up for an entire month, providing continuous exposure to the campaign.
Generating Future Business
The booth's reception at the launch event was overwhelming, directly leading to 8 to 10 immediate re-order inquiries from regional communicators who wanted the exact same display. The ease of setting up the booth also opened the door for a potential mass order of 50 smaller cube displays.
The finished event exhibit was a massive success, exceeding expectations for quality and performance.
